The Quiet Space – Kraftwerk Berlin
From July 16 to August 16, 2026, Kraftwerk Berlin opens its doors with free admission, offering a rare opportunity to experience the monumental industrial architecture in its purest form, entirely empty, still, and free of production or infrastructure.
Presented by the Tresor Foundation, The Quiet Space transforms the vast concrete halls into a sanctuary for collective wellbeing and inner spaciousness. It is a physical invitation to slow down: to walk, stretch, sit, or simply breathe, observing the gentle play of natural light and cool air against the brutalist structure.
As summer peaks, this towering, low-energy environment serves as a natural cooling haven, a quiet refuge from the heat and the constant digital acceleration of modern city life. Beyond a temporary retreat, the project acts as a living laboratory, exploring how underutilized industrial monuments, churches, and historic urban structures can be reclaimed by cities to soothe the nervous system, lower stress, and support community health.
We invite you to step inside, put your phone away, and prioritize the moment over the memory.

When: Tuesday to Sunday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Closed on Mondays)
Closed Sunday 26th for Pride

Your contributions directly support the Tresor Foundation in hosting, caring for, and sustaining this project, helping us continue to bring quietude and community care into the city’s monumental historic spaces.
Moving Mindfully Through the Space
To protect the shared atmosphere of stillness and reflection, we kindly ask you to observe the following guidelines:
We ask that you maintain a low volume throughout the space.
- Please move gently, avoid running on the metal stairs, and help children find a gentle, quiet rhythm so everyone can enjoy the calm.
- We encourage you to keep your phone in your pocket and step away from digital distractions.
- Handheld phone cameras are permitted for personal keepsakes, but we ask that you use them sparingly.
- No Tripod or large camera equipment or commercial photography: please maintain a restful, meditative environment rather than a busy production space, tripods and professional camera setups are not allowed.
- Dogs are not permitted inside the exhibition space. Certified service and assistance animals are, of course, welcome.
On-site kiosk:
A minimalist selection of analogue goods, including custom notebooks, pencils, and postcards are available for those wishing to sketch or write during their visit.

From July 16 to August 16, 2026, Kraftwerk Berlin will once again open its doors with free admission, offering visitors the rare opportunity to experience the space in a new light – empty and free of content and infrastructure. Visitors are invited to walk, stretch, sit, or simply breathe and experience the interplay of natural light, air, and the brutalist structure.
Presented by the Tresor Foundation, „The Quiet Space“ transforms the vast industrial building into a tranquil space for contemplation, a place to pause, reflect, and rediscover oneself. Offering refuge from the intensity of Berlin’s summer heat, the project provides a moment of peace amidst the city’s fast-paced cultural calendar.
Tuesday to Sunday, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (closed on Mondays).
Information for visitors:
• No dogs allowed
(assistance animals are permitted).
• Please be quiet: Please keep the noise level down – avoid running on the metal stairs and ensure that children behave quietly so that everyone can enjoy the special atmosphere.
• Please refrain from using tripods for photography: The room is intended as a place for relaxation and reflection. Large camera equipment often appears intrusive and can disturb the contemplative atmosphere for other visitors.
• However, mobile phone cameras or cameras without a tripod are ALLOWED.
